About Bob O'Connor Golf Course

Golf was being played in Schenley Park by 1897, and in 1898 Scottish immigrant Mark Ormiston laid out a nine-hole course there for the private Pittsburgh Golf Club; it reached 18 holes around 1901. The city asserted control in 1906 and in 1912 it formally became one of the first municipally owned golf courses in the US. Renamed in 2007 for late Mayor Bob O'Connor, it has been run by First Tee – Pittsburgh since 2008.
