Greensburg Country Club was organized in 1925 and opened in August 1926 with six sand-green holes, according to Foretee. The course closed for several years and reopened in 1942, when the city of Greensburg acquired the property. The city leased it to club members in 1953, and in 1964 the club bought 64 acres and expanded to 18 holes.
