Jug Mountain Ranch

Jug Mountain Ranch is an acclaimed public mountain course tucked into the foothills southeast of McCall, Idaho. It was designed by Donald Knott, a longtime project architect with the Robert Trent Jones II Group whose credits include the Links at Spanish Bay, working here alongside Gary Linn. The layout climbs and falls through native high-country terrain, with elevation changes, forest and mountain vistas shaping a routing widely praised since it debuted in the mid-2000s. Golf Digest ranked Jug among the best new public courses in the nation in its opening year, cementing an early national reputation. Part of a larger residential ranch community, the course remains open to public play and is regularly cited among Idaho's finest, valued for its natural setting, walkability and the quiet mountain character of the McCall area.
