About Trappers Turn Golf Club
Trappers Turn opened in 1991 as the vision of Green Lake, Wisconsin owners Robert and Patricia Francis, who tapped two-time U.S. Open champion Andy North and veteran architect Roger Packard to shape the rolling Dells countryside. The pair first routed the Lake and Canyon nines through terrain carved by ancient glacial meltwaters that cut panoramic corridors through native sandstone. Following the 1998 Wisconsin State Open, a third nine was built and reconstruction of several original holes followed, and the club unveiled its full 27-hole complement of the Lake, Canyon, and Arbor nines in 2000. The layout spreads across generous fairways and rough, with water in play on well over a dozen holes. Trappers Turn has hosted the Wisconsin State Open and multiple Wisconsin PGA Championships, and its course record belongs to PGA Tour winner Steve Stricker.
