Twisted Dune Golf Club

Twisted Dune debuted in 2001 on flat farmland in Egg Harbor Township, a short drive inland from Atlantic City. The design story is unusual: Rees Jones was first engaged, but the ownership group and Jones diverged on the vision, so owner Archie Struthers took on the project himself. Though it was his only golf-course design, Struthers drew on years around Pine Valley and a deep affection for Irish and Scottish links. Crews reportedly moved more than two million cubic yards of earth to manufacture a dramatic, rumpled landscape of towering fescue-covered dunes that isolate each hole from the next. The result is a wide-open, windswept links-style layout with generous fairways, deep bunkering, and sweeping sightlines. It has consistently ranked among New Jersey's top public courses since opening.
