About Woodland Golf Course
Woodland Golf in Oak Creek is a public nine-hole, par-31 course that is family-owned rather than municipal. In 1945 Frank Jandil bought land on East Elm Road to raise corn and cattle; in 1963 his brother-in-law suggested a golf course, and Jandil did much of the construction himself with a tractor, planting rows of trees that gave the course its name. It officially opened in 1966. In 1992 the family bought 13 neighboring acres and added irrigation, tees, longer fairways and improved greens; it is now in its fourth generation of family ownership.
