About Alfred MacDonald Golf Course

MacDonald Golf Course in Wichita first served as the original Wichita Country Club in 1913, before becoming a City of Wichita municipal course. Visit Wichita credits James Dalgleish as original designer; directories also list William Diddel (1950) among its architects, and the city invested nearly $2 million in a complete renovation in 1995. The course is named for Daniel Alfred MacDonald (1891-1949), Wichita's City Manager who later directed Parks until his 1949 retirement. A new driving range was added in 2019 and the Steve Hatchett Youth Golf Campus opened in 2020.
