Boulder Creek is the work of owner Joe Salemi, who bought the 200-acre Streetsboro property in the late 1990s and designed every hole himself after studying MacKenzie and Tillinghast. It opened in 2002 with more than 100 feet of elevation change and an island-green par-3 17th. Golf Digest ranked it eighth among the best new courses of 2003, a rare showing for an amateur-designed course.
