Little Met, originally called Course #2, was built in the mid-1920s as a temporary course to build interest in golf before Big Met opened; its fairways were old meadows and its greens were made by smoothing the ground and sowing grass seed. After the Park Board decided to keep it running, it stayed a nine-hole course in the Metroparks' Rocky River Reservation and became known as a low-cost public value. In 1982 six tees were raised and an irrigation system added. Sources conflict on the year (1924 vs 1925).
