Brookview Golf Course

Brookview began in the 1920s when lumber magnate T.B. Walker and his son Archie Walker built the original course, which they ran as a private country club until 1947. Golden Valley voters approved a $1.6 million bond in June 1967 to buy the club; the city took possession in November 1968 and began municipal operations in 1969. A par-3 course opened in 1977. Flooding from Bassett Creek led to redesigns of seven holes in 1984-85, and all greens were rebuilt after a 1990 closure.
