About Carthage Golf Course

Carthage Golf Course sits in the city's Municipal Park. Mike Farlow designed the original nine holes, which opened in 1937. Don Sechrest added holes in 1982, and Craig Schreiner renovated the course in 2002, according to the course's own scorecard. Today it is an 18-hole, par-71 layout on 120 acres, playing 6,413 yards from the back tees and 4,923 from the forward tees, with two ponds, two winding creeks, more than 30 bunkers, and narrow fairways.
