Chewelah Golf & Country Club, about 45 minutes north of Spokane, opened as a Keith Hellstrom nine in 1976. Hellstrom added a second nine in 1983, and Jim Krause, with head pro Kim Walker shaping the greens, built a third in 2001. Today's 18-hole course pairs the 1983 nine with the 2001 nine, and the original 1976 holes play as the separate Old Nine.
