Gold Mountain Golf Course

The Olympic Course at Gold Mountain Golf Club opened in 1996 as a municipal facility owned by the City of Bremerton, on Washington's Kitsap Peninsula. It joined an existing course that dated to 1971, and John Harbottle III's new layout quickly overshadowed the original, becoming one of the finest public golf values in the Pacific Northwest. The par-72 design threads through dense evergreen forest with generous fairways, bold contouring, and a routing that rewards strategy over sheer length. Its quality drew national championship golf to a city-owned course, a genuine rarity: Gold Mountain hosted the U.S. Amateur Public Links in 2006 and the U.S. Junior Amateur Championship in 2011. The Olympic Course is regularly cited among the best publicly accessible tracks in Washington, a showcase for Harbottle's naturalistic, playable style.
