Golf at Juniper in Redmond dates to 1952, when a nine-hole course opened on leased federal land, and a second nine followed in 1987. Facing a planned highway bypass through the course and rising lease costs, the club relocated to Bureau of Land Management land about two miles south. Architect John Harbottle III designed the new course, which opened on July 2, 2005. In 2006 Golf Digest named it one of America's Best New Courses.
