The Old Back Nine is what remains of Mountain High, an 18-hole course in south Bend designed in 1987 to help sell real estate. Developer Jan Ward closed the course in 2002 during a water dispute with the City of Bend, and a court order forced the back nine to reopen in 2009. It keeps its original hole numbers, 10 through 18, and is a walkable public nine.
