About Grand National Golf Course
Grand National Golf Club opened in 1995 in Hinckley, Minnesota, adjacent to the Grand Casino Hinckley roughly midway between the Twin Cities and Duluth along Interstate 35. The 18-hole, par-72 course was designed by Joel Goldstrand, a Minnesota-born former PGA Tour player who became one of the Upper Midwest's most prolific golf architects. Cut through the pine and hardwood forest of east-central Minnesota, the layout uses the region's natural woodland corridors, wetlands, and gentle terrain to frame its holes, giving each a sense of seclusion. As a casino-resort amenity, it serves as a golf destination for visitors to the property while remaining open to the public. Note that this Minnesota course should not be confused with the well-known Grand National on Alabama's Robert Trent Jones Golf Trail, which is a separate and unrelated facility.
