About Grove Park Golf Club

Grove Park is a nine-hole municipal golf course in northwest Jackson, off Livingston Road near Lake Hico. The city built it around 1959–60 as a separate course for African American golfers during segregation. After a 2016 budget closure threat, the Mississippi Urban League took over management in 2017, and in 2018 the course was renamed to honor Jackson golfer Pete Brown.
