This club traces to the Spokane Country Club, founded in 1898 on the South Hill, which moved to its site along the Little Spokane River in 1910 and hosted the first U.S. Women's Open in 1946. After losing a five-year gender-discrimination lawsuit, the club declared bankruptcy. In 2015 the Kalispel Tribe bought it for about $3 million, renamed it Kalispel Golf and Country Club, and pledged not to alter the historic course. It is mainly member-based, with some public tee times and stay-and-play packages through Northern Quest Resort.
