About Las Vegas National Golf Club
This public, daily-fee course opened in October 1961 as the Stardust Country Club, designed by Bert Stamps, and passed through several names - Sahara-Nevada Country Club, then Las Vegas Hilton Country Club - before becoming Las Vegas National Golf Club in 1998. It hosted the LPGA Championship for six straight years through 1966 and later PGA Tour events. Most famously, it was one of three venues for the 90-hole 1996 Las Vegas Invitational, where a 20-year-old Tiger Woods captured his first PGA Tour title in a playoff over Davis Love III.
