McNary Golf Club opened in 1962 in Keizer, on the former homestead of Charles McNary, the U.S. senator and 1940 Republican vice-presidential nominee, and it was named in his honor because he was an avid golfer. His home first served as the clubhouse. Claggett Creek comes into play on four holes. Published sources disagree on the architect.
