About Pasfield Golf Course

Pasfield's ground is among the oldest golf land in Illinois' capital: part of the property was a course run by the Springfield Golf Club, founded by a group of prominent local businessmen, as early as 1898. The Springfield Park District took over in the early 1930s, and the 9-hole Pasfield Golf Course opened as a public park district course in spring 1930. It is named for George Pasfield Jr. (1870-1930), five-term president of the park board. Today it is an affordable 9-hole community course at 1700 W. Lawrence Ave.
