Stonebrooke Golf Course

Stonebrooke opened in June 1989 as Shakopee's first golf course, built by local home builders Gary and Randy Laurent, who remain the owners decades later. Designer Tom Haugen laid out the 18 holes across land shaped by lakes, woods, and wetlands surrounding Lake O'Dowd. The course's signature moment is the eighth hole, a par four whose tee shot must carry water before players are ferried across Lake O'Dowd on a pontoon boat piloted by a course staffer, one of the most distinctive rituals in Minnesota golf. That novelty, combined with a mature, tree-lined layout, has made Stonebrooke a lasting favorite in the Twin Cities market and kept it thriving more than thirty years after opening. It also runs a shorter Waters Edge executive course for quicker rounds and newer players.
