About Tates Creek Golf Course

Tates Creek is an 18-hole, par-72 municipal course on about 125 acres in the heart of Lexington's Gainesway neighborhood. Designed by Buck Blankenship, it was purchased by the City of Lexington in 1972 and is one of the city's five public courses. Playing to about 6,265 yards with smaller greens, it sits alongside a city aquatic center, banquet room and short-game area. Sources disagree on the original opening date (1958 vs. 1969), so it is left unconfirmed.
