Whitefish Lake Golf Club - North Course

Whitefish Lake Golf Club is Montana's only 36-hole municipal facility, and its North Course carries the property's deepest roots. Golf here dates to 1936, when an original nine-hole course took shape on land assembled by local residents and eventually deeded to the City of Whitefish. A second nine was added by Gregor MacMillan in the 1960s, and architect John Steidel later reworked the loops, shaping the modern North Course during a broader expansion that also produced the club's South Course. The North plays through corridors of pine with mountain views, and unusually returns to the clubhouse after the front nine before heading back out. Publicly owned and welcoming, it blends small-town golf history with a resort-town setting, remaining a beloved fixture of the Flathead Valley golf scene.
