Apple Tree Golf Course & Resort

Apple Tree Golf Course opened in 1992 in Yakima, in Washington's sunny central valley, on land carved from a century-old commercial orchard. Architect John Steidel routed the par-72 course through the rolling orchard terrain, and trees along the front nine still bear fruit each fall. The course is famous for its signature 17th, a par-3 played to an island green shaped like a giant apple sitting in a pond, a motif the Borton family developers helped bring to the final holes. Measuring more than 10,000 square feet with multiple tee boxes, the apple green has been widely celebrated, including recognition from The Seattle Times as a standout par-3. Part of the Apple Tree Resort, the course offers a warmer, drier alternative to the region's coastal layouts.
