Arcadia Bluffs - South Course

The South Course opened in the summer of 2018 as the second eighteen at Arcadia Bluffs in Arcadia, Michigan, designed by Dana Fry and Jason Straka and set deliberately apart from the resort's dramatic Lake Michigan-hugging Bluffs Course. Working across relatively flat farmland of old orchards and fields, Fry and Straka drew inspiration from the Golden Age geometry of C.B. Macdonald and Seth Raynor, most directly Macdonald's Chicago Golf Club. Rather than copying famous template holes outright, they built an homage: rifle-straight fairways, square-cut tee boxes, sharply rectangular platform greens, and bold church-pew-style bunkering with hard, geometric edges. The result is a firm, walkable strategic test that feels transported from the 1920s, offering a completely different experience from the cliffside spectacle just up the road.
