Babe Zaharias Golf Course

The course was laid out in 1925 by Philadelphia landscape architect J. Franklin Meehan for the Forest Hills community, with a Tudor Revival clubhouse built in 1926. Golf legend George and Babe Didrikson Zaharias bought the property in 1949, and Babe served as its winter pro from 1950. After her death in 1956 the course declined; the City of Tampa reopened it as a municipal course in 1974, named in her honor.
