Bass Lake opened in 1926 as a nine-hole course on 110 acres owned by the Langlade Lumber Company, and its first professional, Louis Jedlicka, is credited with designing the front nine. Larry Packard designed the 1963 expansion to 18 holes. A renovation completed in 2001 and led by Jerry Matthews enlarged the greens, added and moved bunkers, and added a fourth set of tees.
