Camaloch Golf Course on Camano Island grew out of the Camaloch Association development, begun in 1967. In the late 1960s members decided to build a nine-hole course, mostly with volunteer labor, and it opened around 1972. A second nine designed by Bill Overdorf later made it an 18-hole course.
