About Carolina Country Club
Carolina Country Club, the oldest country club in Raleigh, was established April 15, 1910 as Raleigh Country Club and renamed Carolina Country Club in 1918. It sits at Five Points northwest of downtown. A.W. Tillinghast reviewed the course during his 1936 PGA-sponsored survey tour and suggested alterations; later renovation work was done by John LaFoy (2005) and Rees Jones (2016). The original course architect is not reliably documented. Note: this is distinct from the separate Donald Ross-designed Raleigh Country Club (Ross's final design, opened 1948-49).
