Christmas Lake Golf Course

Christmas Lake Golf Course opened in 1967 in the aptly named town of Santa Claus, in southern Indiana, and was designed by respected mid-Atlantic architect Edmund B. Ault. Ault used the area's rolling terrain to build two deliberately contrasting nines: a relatively flat, open front with a single true dogleg, and a hillier, tighter, more wooded back nine that plays quite differently. The par-72 layout extends to roughly 7,200-plus yards from the back tees and is known for its bentgrass greens and zoysia fairways. Over the years the course has earned national recognition, appearing among Golf Digest's ranked public courses in America, notable acclaim for a resort-area track in a small town. It remains a well-regarded destination for golfers drawn to the novelty and quality of playing in Santa Claus, Indiana.
