About Studebaker Park

Studebaker Golf Course opened in 1919 and is South Bend's oldest golf course. It sits in Henry Studebaker Park, which the Studebaker family gave to the city. The Park Board wanted a cheap course for residents who couldn't afford club dues, but World War I held up the plan while the land was plowed for "war gardens." The first layout was nine holes covering 1,898 yards, with small greens that called for finesse. The course turned 100 in 2019 and is still a short municipal nine.
