About Como Park Golf Course
Como Park is a municipal course owned by the City of St. Paul, created in an era when golf in the region otherwise meant private country-club membership. The city committed funds in its 1928 budget and built the course in the former Cozy Lake area; the first nine holes, laid out by Ramsey County surveyor Paul Coates (designer of Keller Golf Course), opened in 1930, with a second nine designed by Tom Vardon, head professional at the White Bear Yacht Club, opening the following year.
