Dearborn Hills

Dearborn Hills was built in 1922-23 by developer Robert Herndon, who financed it after bankers told him golf was only for millionaires. Reputed to be Michigan's oldest public golf course, it is on the State Register of Historic Sites with a 1989 historical marker. Herndon's widow later deeded it to the City of Dearborn, which now operates it; a roughly $5 million renovation came in 1991. Designer credits conflict, so none is given.
