About Falconhead Resort

Falconhead Resort in Burneyville, in south-central Oklahoma near Lake Texoma, stands on the site of Turner's Lodge, where oilman Waco Turner staged his own PGA Tour stop, the Waco Turner Open, in the late 1950s and 1960s. It was here in 1964 that Pete Brown became the first Black golfer to win an official PGA Tour event, holding off Dan Sikes by one stroke with a par on the 232-yard par-3 18th. The resort's Turner's Lodge Pro Golf Museum keeps the tournament's history, and in May 2024 it hosted the Pete Brown Diamond Jubilee for the win's 60th anniversary.
