Firekeeper Golf Course

Firekeeper Golf Course is owned by the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation and sits about fifteen miles north of Topeka near Mayetta, alongside the tribe's casino and resort. It stands as the first signature design of Notah Begay III, the four-time PGA Tour winner and prominent Native American golfer, who partnered with veteran architect Jeffrey D. Brauer of Nova Golf. Completed in 2010 and opened in spring 2011, the course was routed with deliberate care for the land: the team tested numerous routings to preserve the property's natural elements in keeping with Potawatomi traditions. The result is a championship-caliber layout carved through prairie and rolling woodlands, with a wide range of tee options stretching from roughly 4,800 yards to well over 7,000, offering a genuine risk-reward test that has earned strong regional acclaim.
