About Forest Park Golf Course

Forest Park is a Baltimore municipal course established as a 9-hole layout in the mid-1930s; in 1936, Works Progress Administration (WPA) crews expanded it from 9 to 18 holes. It is one of Baltimore's "Classic Five" public courses now managed by the Baltimore Municipal Golf Corporation. Under segregation the course was restricted to white golfers until Baltimore's municipal courses were opened to Black players through the 1940s desegregation campaign, with full access granted in 1948.
