Gateway Park is a city-built park on Montgomery's southwest side, near Interstate 65, and it opened in 2006. The Parks and Recreation Department developed it on a flood plain fed by the Cloverland Ditch. The golf course is a nine-hole executive layout of about 3,000 yards with no par 5s, designed by Ken Morgan. Its clubhouse was raised above the ground to protect it from flooding.
