About Glenhurst Gc
Glenhurst opened to the public on May 28, 1932, on part of an 80-acre farm the Paulger family had owned since 1854; three of Thomas Paulger's granddaughters and their husbands (the Nacker and Hawthorne families) became its original owners. GolfLink credits George McLean as designer. The course has been redesigned three times since, with 22 acres added. Redford Township bought it in 1989 with DNR trust-fund help, and the Hawthorne family still manages it as a public course billed as Michigan's busiest 18-hole public course.
