About Groesbeck Golf Course

Opened in 1926 and named for Michigan Governor Alexander J. Groesbeck, Groesbeck is Lansing's first public golf course. The city once ran four municipal layouts, but Sycamore closed in 2001 and Waverly and Red Cedar closed in 2007 after budget cuts, with voters approving their sale in 2012. Groesbeck survived as Lansing's last city-owned course and marked its 100th season in 2026 with a hickory-club celebration.
