Hilly Haven was built on a family dairy farm south of De Pere, along the Niagara Escarpment, where part of the land opened for downhill skiing in 1964. Work on a golf course began in 1968 and nine holes opened in 1970; a back nine on neighboring land opened in 1997, making it an 18-hole, par-72 course.
