About Ironwood Golf Course

Ironwood opened in 1967 in Hinckley, Ohio, a Harold Paddock design on about 150 rolling acres of hardwoods, ponds and ravines along the East Branch of the Rocky River. It ran as a privately owned public course for more than half a century. Cleveland Metroparks' board then approved a $3 million purchase, and in November 2023 Ironwood officially joined the park system's "Emerald Necklace." The deal permanently protects part of the river corridor and commits the Metroparks to keep operating it as a golf course for at least 10 years.
