About Lake Spanaway Golf Course

Lake Spanaway Golf Course opened in 1967 beside Spanaway Lake, south of Tacoma, credited to A. Vernon Macan, the architect of Fircrest, Broadmoor and Inglewood. Pierce County owns it as part of a family of courses that includes Chambers Bay and Fort Steilacoom. It has hosted regional and national USGA amateur events, and the Seattle Times once named its 15th one of the top 18 holes in Puget Sound.
