About Lost Nation Golf Course

Lost Nation Municipal Golf Course in Willoughby was designed by English architect Harry S. Colt and Detroit's Charles H. Alison, the pair also credited with nearby Kirtland Country Club. Directories list it as opening in 1928 (one source says 1927). The City of Willoughby owns and operates it. A renovation finished in 2014 (over $5 million) improved drainage and irrigation and rebuilt two par 5s, and federal funding helped restore eroded banks along Ward's Creek on the back nine.
