Maple Leaf Golf & Country Club (formerly Maple Leaf Estates) opened in 1976 as the centerpiece of a resident-owned, 55+ manufactured-home community on about 300 acres in Port Charlotte. The executive-length course (par 62) was originally laid out by Lane Marshall, reworked by Gus Grantham (1982) and fully renovated by Gordon G. Lewis (2018); it is an Audubon-designated wildlife preserve.
