About Moccasin Bend Golf Club

Moccasin Bend Golf Club is a public 18-hole course that opened in the mid-1960s (listings give 1965 or 1966) on land jointly owned by Hamilton County and the City of Chattanooga, set inside the river bend's National Archeological District. Because the bend holds thousands of years of Native American history, federal park planning has long treated the leased course as a non-conforming use; a 2001 House bill kept the golf area out of park expansion while it stayed a public course. In 2020 the city approved Creeks Bend Golf Club as operator under a county lease.
