Pinewood Country Club grew from 325 acres in Harshaw bought by a local family in 1959. The front nine, laid out on a former potato field, opened in 1962, and the back nine was cut from hardwoods on the property and completed in 1972. The par-72 course measures 6,233 yards from the back tees.
