About Pioneers Golf Course

Pioneers Golf Course opened on April 12, 1930, and is the oldest public course in Lincoln. Architect William Tucker originally laid out 27 holes in Pioneers Park; in 1933 the nine holes east of today's layout were returned to the park as grassland and grass greens were planted on the remaining 18. Its stone clubhouse was built in 1937 as a WPA project using rock from a Roca quarry, and the City of Lincoln took over the course and clubhouse in 1951.
