Red Arrow Golf Course is a municipal nine-hole course built along the Kalamazoo River as a Works Progress Administration project, completed in 1937 — WPA workers earned $15 a week during construction. The city bought the riverfront land in 1924, and the park is named for Col. Joseph B. Westnedge's WWI brigade. It is operated by the Kalamazoo Municipal Golf Association.
