Why we love this place
We love a course with a story, and this one has plenty. It's the training ground for Florida State's teams, reborn through a Nicklaus redesign that the Golden Bear took on almost for free out of loyalty to the school. Rolling ground, thoughtful greens and a welcoming public gate make it a rare college-town gem worth the trip.

About Seminole Legacy Golf Club
Seminole Legacy Golf Club in Tallahassee is the home course of Florida State University's men's and women's golf teams. The layout first opened in 1962 to a design by architect William Amick and was long known as the Don Veller Seminole Golf Course, honoring the longtime Seminoles coach. In 2020 it reopened as Seminole Legacy following a roughly $10 million reimagining by Nicklaus Design, a collaboration between Jack Nicklaus and his son Jack Nicklaus II. Nicklaus, who has family ties to the university and to Florida, famously took on the project for a token fee rather than his usual price. The redesign stretched the course past 7,000 yards, sculpted new contours and made the most of the property's rolling terrain, which offers more elevation change than a typical Florida course. It serves as both a college practice facility and a public-access daily-fee club.
